CSM II Has Arrived!

The ClanSport TF2 Masters II is the 2nd online ClanSport Masters tournament for Team Fortress 2. Some team instability and logistical problems might have pushed the tournament back a week but the rules are in place, the team invites are out and things are almost ready to roll!

Sunday 3rd January 2010 – NetGameMedia Pty Ltd. announced today that the ClanSport Masters would be moved back a week in response to some key team instability and minor logistical problems, however these have been sorted out and the tournament is set to begin on Sunday 10th of January 2010. The ruleset has been published alongside the tournament draw with some critical rule and format changes in place to help make the tournament more competitive that ever. Key changes are the implementation of a true double elimination grand final, an expanded draw of 8 invited teams and the removal of single elimination wildcard rounds.

Spectator prizes have also been officially announced with Foosh Australia & netGameRadio contributing a number of prize packs as well as 6x Cyber Snipa Micro-fibre Mouse Mats^TM thanks to Cyber Snipa all going to listeners and viewers on official tournament broadcasts. Continuing the tradition of making these tournament spectator friendly, STV servers will be available for all matches but don't forget to tune in to the live netGameRadio match coverage for your chance to win some of these great spectator prizes!

Wildcard teams, Frenetic Array, Jedi Knights, we-r and ESM will be randomly placed into the draw on the evening of Monday 4th of January confirming all the details for the first round of the tournament.

To mark another step forward in the support of the ClanSport Masters, alongside STV, official media partner netGameRadio will be offering video broadcasts of selected ClanSport Masters games. This exciting initiative should make spectating your favourite ClanSport games easier than ever before.

ClanSport TF2 Masters II November Update

The ClanSport TF2 Masters II is the 2nd major online tournament in a 3-tournament series for Team Fortress 2. It’s been three weeks since the tournament was announced and there is some big news for fans as we power our way toward the first matches in January!

Monday 2nd November 2009 – NetGameMedia Pty Ltd. has announced an updated sponsor line-up for the upcoming ClanSport TF2 Masters Series tournament in January. Award winning pro-gaming gear manufacturer, Cyber Snipa will again be supporting the series, offering up over $650 in product prizes for players. Players from the top three placing teams will be taking home the acclaimed Cyber Snipa Micro-fibre Mouse Matt^TM and the star of the event, the Cyber Snipa Player of the Tournament, will score an epic $200 prize pack featuring the Cyber Snipa Stinger Mouse^TM, Game Pad V2 and Tracer^TM Mouse Pad.

The total tournament prize pool now stands at just over $1450 in cash and prizes.

Bench Studios have also been named as a sponsor of the event. Michael “Bench” Debevec, founder of Bench Studios, has a distinguished track record in television & graphic design and will be bringing those skills to aid the launch of the CSMII with the creation of the series’ first promotional video. More information on the video will be released in subsequent announcements.

Popular shoutcast network Auscast will also be supporting the tournament once again, joining netGameRadio on the list of official media partners. Auscast, despite only having launched this year, have already proven to be on the leading edge of Australian esports commentary and will be working closely with other official media partners to bring spectators of the ClanSport TF2 Masters a rich and entertaining commentary experience. Tournament fans and players will also be delighted to note that the popular “ClanSport Masters Show”, co-hosted by Auscast & netGameRadio, will be returning to the airwaves prior to the tournaments Sunday night games.

The final addition to the media line-up for January is potentially the most exciting. GamersRequest.net, one of the webs latest online music stations for gamers will be featuring a brand new music show which will go to air in January in support of the ClanSport TF2 Masters Series. The show, yet to be named, will launch as a “pump-up” music request show and will feature before Monday night ClanSport matches. The show promises to be a great way for fans to have some fun before the tournament action starts and will be hosted by Ethan ‘Naffler’ Blaine, founder of GamersRequest.net, alongside community guests, players and personalities from the netGameRadio and Auscast commentary teams.

The ClanSport TF2 Masters II will run from January 3rd – February 7th 2010 and will feature over 50 of Australia & New Zealand’s most talented FPS gamers from 8 premier gaming teams.
